Het unieke landschap van geografische Chaiyaphum Provincie in het noordoosten van Thailand geeft aanleiding tot een gamma van natuurlijke attracties van uitzonderlijke schoonheid. Van deze, de gebieden van roze-paars Siam Tulip, of "Dok Krachiao", kom tot volle bloei in het begin van het regenseizoen van juni tot augustus.
Ook zogenoemde 'patumma', 'Bua Sawan' (hemel lotus), of 'Bua bok' (de grond lotus), de Siam Tulip is lid van de gember geslachten - Kurkuma of Zingiberaceae.
